Imagine seeing one of these in your backyard!
Imagine my surprise when I did.
I dreamt it was night time, and I was in my kitchen, looking out the window. I saw this little guy moving around in the shadows, foraging through the grass for bugs. I grabbed a flashlight and shone it on him. His eyes glowed in the light. His anatomy was very strange! He was rather like a fuzzy greyish baldish sphinx cat but with batlike arms. I became excited because I knew this was a weird new animal that nobody had ever seen before, and I was the first! But I didn't want to catch him and get famous. He didn't do anything wrong, he was only searching for bugs.
So I let him be.
I wonder what it means
Anyway, it's a quick little doodle just so I remember what he looked like.
In my dream, his movements and mannerisms were very real.

You did the right thing by letting your's be.
Also I think there WAS a real animal like that once. Because it looks to me like a giant foraging bat and I know there are big bats in the real world.
PS, if you photograph it well full frame, in focus, it's just as good as submitting a specimen to a museum or zoo, photos can be scientific documents in the right circumstances.
